Jack the RipperDir Jess Franco / 1976 / Germany In November 1977 Blake films had to remove 56.2 mtr (2min 3sec) of footage from a 2507.10mtr (91min 38sec) print to achieve an R rating. This went on to have an Australian theatrical release, but was never issued on video. In 2002 this has had a limited DVD release in Australia on a label called Front Row Features. This is an cheap import of a R0 Canadian disc that contains a censored version of the film. It was not rated by the Classification Board In July 2004 a DVD was submitted to the Classification Board. This was the first time they had screened the film in since 1977. The applicant, Big Sky Video received an R18+ (HIGH LEVEL VIOLENCE, SEXUAL VIOLENCE) rating. The uncut disc was released in September 2004.
KidnappedDir Howard Avedis / 1986 / USA In 1987 Hoyts Distribution had to cut this (due to gratuitous sexual violence) from 96 to 94min (v) for an R rating. The censored tape is out on the RCA-Columbia/Hoyts label and runs 94min 32sec, and is cut as follows. 35min 38sec-Bonnie is held to the bed by her attacker, she pleads with him not to hurt her sister. Around 68sec has been removed after this. The attacker runs the knife over her body, down to her underwear. Bonnie cries, "Oh God". He then runs the knife up to her bra and cuts it off. Bonnie cries "Please, No". The attacker then tells her to take her hands away from her breasts, before stabbing the knife into the bed next to her head and telling her to "beg for it". The Australian version then comes back in with the attacker telling Bonnie to "say her prayers", just before help arrives to save her. In the UK this was cut from 95min 58sec to 93min 50sec for an 18 certificate.
Killer NunDir Giulio Berruti / 1978 / Italy 14th Mandolin has this refused at 79min (v) in 1983, and rated X the following year with the same runtime. A censored tape (79min 57sec) was released on the King of Video label, and a version running 80min 14sec premiered on SBS in 1996. Although longer than the King of Video tape, it was still missing some footage, notably the needle in the eye scene. The uncut time for this title seems to be 80min 55sec.
Krays, TheDir Peter Medak / 1990 / UK In 1990 this was rated R, instead, Palace chose to cut it from 116min (f) to 115min (f) for a lower M rating (this was pre-MA). Palace released both cut M rated, and uncut R rated prints on video.
Kung-Fu ExecutionerDir Hwa Yi-Hung / 1980 / Hong Kong In September 1981 Joe Sui International Film Co removed 42 seconds of footage to gain an R rated 97min (f) Chinese Language Cinema release. The cuts were required for frequent, gratuitous, medium intensity violence and animal cruelty. The film was classified again in October 1988 when Mareith Investments received an M for a 92min (v) print. I cannot confirm if this version was uncut, or if any video release eventuated.
