Troma had this passed with an R18+ rating in 1998. This version is the softer American R rated print that removes some violent scenes. The Troma video was released locally through Siren.
In 2000, violent clips from the unrated version went a long way to causing the banning of six DVDs that contained the Troma Intelligence Test.
In June 2005 it was back before the OFLC, again it was rated R18+, this time with a consumer warning of 'High Level Horror Violence, Blood and Gore'. The DVD is the fully uncut version, and runs 93m 17s. It was released by Stomp Visual in September 2005.
On the back cover the following is written:
"Troma Intelligence Test and Trailers are not available on the Australian version of Rabid Grannies"

It is a mystery why Stomp dropped the COMING DISTRACTIONS extra, as it is simply a series of trailers for other Troma titles. If you have the names of the trailers found on the U.S. DVD, then please e-mail them in.
