THE PICTURE was a long-running Australian adult softcore publication. Several issues had problems with the Classification Board or were controversial.
Its more explicit offshoot, THE PICTURE PREMIUM, also had censorship trouble.

Publisher ACP Magazines – Bauer Media / Australia / Wikipedia
The first issue of THE PICTURE was published in 1988 and always aimed for an M (Not recommended for readers under 15 years) rating.
No. 1382 B: RC
For several years THE PICTURE was passed with a serial classification of M (Not recommended for readers under 15 years).
On 1 July 2015, No. 1382 was passed as Category 1.
This was followed on July 13 by an M (Not recommended for readers under 15 years) rating which was awarded to a ‘modified’ version. This was identified as No. 1382 B.
Finally, on July 28 an ‘original’ version of No. 1382 B was refused when it was submitted as a serial classification. No reason was given was it was banned.
In all cases, each issue was 100-pages and the applicant was Bauer Media Group. The cover date for No. 1382 should have been 13 July 2015.
The Picture Premium
Publisher ACP Magazines – Bauer Media / Australia
THE PICTURE PREMIUM was a more explicit monthly offshoot of THE PICTURE magazine.
Two versions were produced, to receive Unrestricted for one and Category 1 for the other.
Occasionally, the Unrestricted issue was Category 1 and the Category 1 awarded Category 2. In these cases, the proof-prints were modified for the lower classification.
No. 103: RC & modified
In February 2007, the proof-print of THE PICTURE PREMIUM No. 103 (Restricted issue) was banned by the Classification Board.
February 2007
Pubs 1(a) The publication is classified RC in accordance with the National Classification Code, Publications Table, 1.(a) as publications that “describe, depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that they should not be classified.”
